【摘要】:Thesetermshaveparticularapplicationtotheforensicsciences.Inaddition,ahierarchyofsourcesofdefinitionswereusedinthedevelopmentofthisterminology.Thehierarchyisasfollows:WebstersNewCollegiate7thDictionary;technicaldictionaries;andtheCompilationofASTMStandardDefinitions.Thesubcommitteedevelopedasuitabledefinitionafterallofthesourcesinthehierarchywerefoundwanting.1.1Thisisacompilationoftermsandcorrespondingdefinitionsusedintheforensicsciences.Legalorscientifictermsthataregenerallyunderstoodordefinedadequatelyinotherreadilyavailablesourcesmaynotbeincluded.1.2Adefinitionisasinglesentencewithadditionalinformationincludedinnotes.Itisreviewedeveryfiveyears,andtheyearoflastrevieworrevisionisappended.1.3DefinitionsidenticaltothosepublishedbyanotherstandardsorganizationorASTMcommitteeareidentifiedwiththeabbreviationofthenameoftheorganizationortheidentifyingdocumentandASTMcommittee;forexample,ASMEistheAmericanSocietyofMechanicalEngineering.1.4Definitionsoftermsspecifictoaparticularfieldareidentifiedwithanabbreviation.
